Second Fix installation - Downlights
Simple, easy and quick
Overview
Although there are different installation methods for the "FIrst Fix" Housings, the "Second Fix" installation of what we call "Inserts" is the same for all Housing types.
They are simple and quick to install and should take less than a couple of minutes
Low Profile Inserts
Fitting the Low profile insert is quick and simple.
- The Lamp (Light bulb) is fitted in the recess of the magnets
- Fit the lampholder onto the lamp
- Plug the connectors together
- Push driveers if they are present into the ceiling void
- Push the insert into the ceiling
Deep & Directional Inserts
The installation of the Deep and Directional inserts are broadly similar
- 1he Lamp (Light bulb) is fitted in the recess of the magnets
- Fit the lampholder onto the lamp
- Plug the connectors together
- Push driveers if they are present into the ceiling void
- Push the insert into the ceiling
Installing and removing IP65 plates
Installing the IP front plates is simple, just attach it to the insert with the magnet.
To remove either use our telescopic front plate tool (see video ) or insert a small flat head screwdriver between the glass and the front plate and gently lift it out of the housing.
